Andrew Weatherly

Maple Leaf

maple leaf
ends bowed up port and starboard
keel laid
stem prowing
like a longship
flaming red
swimming with the dead
dropping from tree into river
navigating the heavens
and the Fall
to play with heroes
burning away downstream
