October is here and it’s time for the Fall Issue of The Literary Nest. Also, in my corner of the world, October has always been associated with the magical, whimsical, somewhat spooky celebration of Halloween.  This holiday is a fitting metaphor for the current chaos in the world and the imagination, of the children and adults, that triumphs by creating the magical world, and offers the hope for the new dawn.

little goblins have left
the pretty princess, dainty witch,
the pumpkin toddler, angel with shiny wings,
the palace guard with his red cap,
everyone is gone.
little feet are tired
sleepy eyelids are closing,
the end of Halloween night is here

the moon is bright in the sky
turned off the porch light
blew the candles off
retired the ghosts from the past
Only thing left to do
is to anticipate a bright new day
illuminated by the tenderness of dawn

Enjoy the issue.
